Write for us
We welcome clear, original pitches that help readers understand a sporting rule, tactical idea, competition format, piece of equipment or tradition without assuming specialist knowledge.
What makes a strong pitch
Propose one focused question and explain the reader’s likely takeaway. A useful pitch has a distinct angle, a sensible scope and a clear distinction between rules, examples and interpretation. We favour evergreen subjects that can be explained without unsupported statistics, invented access or claims of first-hand testing.
Useful subject boundaries
We are interested in how games work and how their details can be read. Avoid medical or injury advice, hazardous equipment instructions, definitive claims about a rule without identifying its competition, and material that depends on local requirements. Do not submit work that reproduces another publication’s wording or images.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to send a concise pitch, a short account of your relevant experience if useful, and any important sources or conflicts to disclose. Please do not send a complete commissioned-style article unless requested; a proposal is enough for an initial conversation.
